Things seems to be lame but.. not

MIKA-my interpretation

 You talk about life
You talk about death
And everything in between
Like it’s nothing
And the words are easy
  You talk about me
And you talk about you
And everything I do
Like it’s something
That needs repeating
  I don’t need an alibi
For you to realize
The things we left unsaid
Are only taking space up in our heads
Make it my fault, win the game
Point the finger, place the blame
And toss me up and down
It doesn’t matter now
    Chorus
Cause I don’t care if I ever talk to you again
This is not about emotion
I don’t need a reason not to care
What you say, or what happened in the end
This is my interpretation
And it don’t, don’t make sense
The first two weeks turn into ten
I hold my breath and wonder when it’ll happen
Does it really matter?
If half of what you said is true
And half of what I didn’t do could be different
Would it make you better?
If we forget the things we know
Would we have somewhere to go?
The only way is down
I can see that now
Chorus:     Is splitting up such a sacrifice?
If I ever talk to you again
This is not about emotion
I don’t need a reason not to care
What you say, or what happened in the end
This is my interpretation
And it don’t, don’t make sense
And it don’t have to make no sense to you at all
‘Cause this is my interpretation
Yeah, yeah, yeah
When you talk about MIKA you won’t probably know who that is or so. but he is a great singer. In the song my interpretation, his voice goes up so high and it is just amazing.

What is being done to prevent MADCOWS?

If you’re worried about mad cow disease, tell whoever buys the food in your household about how you feel. The type of protein that causes mad cow disease cannot be removed or destroyed when beef is processed or cooked. For this reason, the U.S. government has established several meat processing procedures to protect the public. One of these steps involves removing the parts of the cow that are at highest risk of containing BSE-causing proteins — the brain and spinal cord — to reduce the chances of them contaminating the meat people eat.

In October 2005, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) proposed additional safeguards to help protect consumers from BSE. These prohibit the use of any high-risk cattle materials in the feed of any animal. In this way, the FDA continues to decrease the already tiny possibility of infection with BSE.

There is also a system in place to test samples of meat regularly. The testing system helped officials identify some contaminated meat in Washington state in December 2003 — one of only three cases of mad cow disease found in the United States so far.

The government has a recall policy for meat that’s suspected of being contaminated. This helps prevent contaminated meat from reaching the shelves.

If you’re wondering if you can get sick from drinking cow’s milk, rest assured that you can’t. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) says there is no evidence that the disease is transmitted through cow’s milk and milk products.

The good news is that it’s highly unlikely that a person will contract CJD from eating beef. CJD itself is pretty rare. And because only three cows in the United States have been found to be infected with mad cow disease, which can’t be spread from cow to cow, the chance that you will eat meat infected with the disease is extremely low.

These days, mad cow disease is getting bigger problem in Asia, people say if we just breathe the air, we will die in the rate of 95%. This seems to be such a lie and we don’t have to worry about it.

Age,,

There is a large gap between the westerners and easterners. In Asia, people really respect the elders and speak in different manners but in the west, they don’t. When I first met my homestay parents in Australia, when I bowed politely , they said, why are you doing that? I was kind of shocked but in some ways happy because I could be the same. Also in Asia, you call people who have a big gap of age, close, but in west, everybody could be friend. This is very weird.

DAL GO NA

The play I watched was not just a normal play but a musical. The musical was called ‘Dal Go Na’ which is a Korean sugar candy that we use to eat when we were young. The musical was held in Han Jun Art Center which is in Seo Cho, Seoul. The date I watched the play was the 3rd of November. The author of the play was ‘Eun Hee Oh’ and it was produced by ‘PMC production’. The musical had strong storylines chich made me understand the script easier while getting entertained. The actors all had different characteristics and especially the songs were really addicting. I founded out after watching the musical that it was one of the long running musicals in Korea and it is also originated from Korea. The first run was on 2004, and it is being played until now. The really surprising thing was that it is so fun even the script was written 3 years ago. Many people love this musical and they say it is better but not worse than the famous ‘NanTa’. Not like other musicals such as ‘Mamma Mia’ or Chicago, the musical shows and expresses about the Korean’s love, memories and people.
The story is about one male student whose dream is to be a movie scenario writer called Sae Woo. He had a girlfriend who always supported him until he became a writer called Jee Hee. She bought a typing machine for him and they were trusting and loving each other. With the typing machine he could continue on his dream. But badly, his scenario failed on the first try converting to the movie, because of the director. It didn’t exactly failed, but the movie didn’t turn into the way that he wanted it to be. Later he breaks up with his girlfriend and goes out with a movie star to be successful. Sae Woo and Jee Hee both marry other person rather than each other. A little different from his dream but Sae Woo successes in writing the scenario of one famous home shopping program. He successes, but he misses Jee Hee so much that he drinks alcohol everyday. One day he decides to sell the typing machine that Jee Hee gave to him. But surprisingly Jee Hee sees it and buys it. She takes it and leaves it back to their memorial place which is the roof. Sae Woo goes to the roof one day, and sees it than realizes Jee Hee’s love. The story had a lot of conflicts between characters and the biggest one was Jee Hee and Sae Woo. The story seems to talk about love but I think it also talks about the memory more than the love. When I heard the title of the musical and when I actually watched the musical, I got the theme right away-‘Looking back to the memories’. The script was really comic at the first time, but it got serious as the time went by. The story made me feel sympathy because it expressed and showed the entire thing we do and remember in teenage memories: watching R rated movie; going to the beach with friends and watching TV- all I have done as well. When they were acting in a high school characters, they used a lot of slang, funny dances and songs and even parodies. But when it got serious, I thought this was kind of a different play. The ambience of the stage was slightly different, and the songs they sang were sad. But even in the serious parts, there were comedy. So the overall tone was ‘Comic’. Which everybody in the audience laughed as the conversation between the actors were going on.
There was one part where they put a popping dance with the story of Little Prince; where he leaves the flower. I think the director put this in to a metaphor on the story. Realizing the real love and how meaningful it was.
There were many actors with different moves and voices. There were B-boys, popping dancers and aerobic dancers as well. The main character Sae Woo was played by Hyung Jun Park, who he had acted in many famous musicals. He was very skilled in all the musical aspects of acting. His voice was very calm but strong. All the songs he sang were great and the feelings went straight to me. He’s acting was very good and I think it was a really good casting. He wasn’t really good looking but with his skills, he made him self the most attractive guy in the play. But the best cast in this musical was the comic uncle played by Dong Yoon Lee. He is a comedian. Comedians are known as the entertainer who can do everything such as dancing, acting and singing which those are the main facts of the musical. As a comedian he played well in the comic character. He made the audience feel like if they were watching ‘Gag concert’. When he said something, acted like a little child, and trying to make a girl out, the whole audience was laughing. He made the character even funnier. This was a outstanding casting.
The B-boys dances were very fancy and brilliant. I think it was a good idea to cast the professional dancers to entertain and make the play more enjoyable- watching different shows in one play. After the play, when I hear that all the actors were singing live while acting and dancing. I couldn’t believe it and also was amazed by their work. Even the singers make mistakes while singing, but they never did. The harmony and the pitch of the voice was just right.
The costumes were all old in fact of that it was based on 1850 century. The actors who acted children wore dirty but cut clothes. The change of the costume during the play was one of the noticeable things as well. As the characters gain more years and success, their clothes changed and fitted their characters. But one thing that seemed like a mistake was that, the shoes were ‘Converse’ for most of the time. This didn’t actually seem to match the children that time, because in my memory they should have worn old rubber shoes. The make ups were red chicks and nose running down to the lips for the children. I think the child make up well described the child of that time. Running nose and red chicks in the winter.
Lightening was very colorful when there was a happy and loud music or dance going on, but went darker and only lighted one actor to show how deep and sad the actor felt.
The sound effect and songs were the biggest theme in the musical. In Dal Go Na, they put all the famous songs that were popular long time ago. But the songs were not only known by the adults who lived on that time, but the teenagers as well. Because it was a famous song, there has been many remixes. I think the choice was awesome because everybody can sing along and while doing that, there were no age between adults and teenagers. Many people stood up and danced. I was laughing when I saw an old man next to me singing along. The other sound effects were great, when there was a fight, the music was low and the punching sounds made the audience feel like if it was a real punch.
The story was overall really good and for my first time watching the musical, I enjoyed a lot. This was a really new experience for me to learn about many things and look back on my memories and laugh when I am having a hard time. I would like to see musical such as Dal Go Na again, where music is fun and actors become one with the audience. Even it was good, some parts that the actors didn’t sing, I kind of felt really sleepy and boring. So if they work on that part more, it could be the best musical and run for about 10 more years.

WHY DO WE HATE JAPAN?

The biggest reason why Koreans these days hate the Japanese is because of the history.

Long time ago, many Korean dynasties handed down their skills to Japan, but right after they failed, few of the Koreans went to Japan and became the emperor of Japan and of course, the Japanese historian know very well about this fact, but some argue that it is not true, just like they deny everything they did in the history these days. In spite of the fact, the Japanese pirates started to steal and kill us Koreans and they didn’t stop. But when the Korean dynasties said that they are not going to traded with them anymore, the Japanese apologized but as soon as the issue wasn’t mentioned, they started again and even in 1592 which was the Chosen dynasty, they invaded Korea for the first time. Not only they invaded us, but basically took everything that Chosen had. Many skillful engineers and ladies were taken to their island Japan. It seems to be that the whole idea of Japanese comfort women started even back then. And here comes why we just can not like the Japanese, they even stole Chosen’s treasures and they are telling the world that it is their national treasure today. And the more irritating thing is that most of their national treasures are ours. The Japanese made unequal treaties that only benefits them which shows selfishness and stole too much rice that Chosen people had to starve to death. And the most absurd thing is that the Japanese took advance on us being nice to them. I heard that to distort the history, they even DESTROYED all the historical things that could prove that Chosen existed. And when Korea was found, and they attacked us, they even told us not to use our own Korean names or speak in Korean. When the atom bomb was dropped they begged to the stronger countries. How sneaky this country is? Attacking every countries that seems to be below them but doing nothing to the countries that are stronger then them? What a bat? Also during the Korean war, they sold left over weapons and there is a rumor that the money earned by selling the weapons was the base of their economical improvement and now days the Japanese are saying it so proudly as if they made the money by hard work when they just stole some of the left over. Also they are denying the facts about the comfort women as if it never happened. Now even started shouting back to us “do you have any proof?” when the comfort women are still alive.

And now they are even telling us that Dok island is theirs. Wow what a great country? There only proof that Dok island is theirs is that USA agreed. If USA says yes does our land becomes Japanese? NO never. It seems to be that sneaky habit will never ever change.

Let me say something to JAPAN, hey guys, just let you know that I love your culture, but not your habits. Do you think the animations you make is cool? Yes it is. Do you thing the porno movie you make is popular? OF COURSE!! But you know what? Denying the history is never cool and just having pride on yourself is not cool too.

As I being the teenager who hate Japan, I even had an experience where I fought with the Japanese because they were Japanese when I was young. I don’t hat the people but what they do. They should learn something from Germany.

iMovie

iMovies are considered as the most popular project today in KIS (Korean International School). It is cool. I like it because I can be creative, responsible and contains more work. But on the other hand I, not only me but many of the 10th graders think iMovie projects are just not for us in spite of the fact that it is just waste of time. What I do not get is what do we benefit from doing the projects? I really understand the point of others but iMovies are just not right.

China Earthquake

Even though people sometimes say “I hope the Chinese die~ they just take up the earth space..” as a joke, if it really happens, everybody would feel sorry. Even though China has so much people that even some die, there won’t be any problem, the life of humans are really.. really, actually the most important. Now, more than 60000 people are officially dead. But there are still lots of people missing. This is so sad and it would be good to sponsor them. click here.

Many people say that this tragedy happened because of the Chinese government. The Chinese government built a dam that would have been finished in 2010. But the problem was that they built it on the earth’s plate which was very weak. As the water was filled and when plate was weakened by the pressure of the water. And as water went into the earth’s crust which made the earthquake to happen.

Japanese Animations

Japanese animations are popular throughout the world. Well written story and drawn pictures makes me even nervous and excited while watching it.

By looking at the animations the Japanese make, it seems to be that their brains are full of imagination. Also why Japanese anime are so popular is that the Japanese animation voice recorders are really popular and when a good manga comes out, they make it into the animation right away. Animations such as Dragonball, bleach, naruto and princess of the tennis are all based on real manga and they are really popular in both comic books and animations.

When look at the characters in every Japanese animations, they all have different characteristics and no one looks the same. Also the girl characters are hot and pretty.

GAMES AND YOUR FEELINGS

whenyou play games, you just feel it while you play. You feel the anger, the sadness and even the power to yourself. For example, our DOTA hero DONGMIN LIM gets so mad when he dies in the game. Once we got in trouble at PC for shouting, and it was DongMin.

But inspite, it is kind of interesting that you actually, feels like you are doing something. for example, in the game DOTA from Warcraft, you pic a character and fight. When I get bashed, I my mind kind of feels different from normal. I don’t know why but than also I could notice the diffenece in between attacking a golem and vensies are slightly different for me. It is just a game but how is this possible?

WOW I always thought of this and most people agreed with me. This is just so so cool.

To be or not to be

I really think being what you want to be=making your dreams come true is hard. These days, to be a singer, almost in every countries, plastic surgeries are compulsory. This is a very sad situation because it seems to be people now only care about how one looks not how they sing or act. Ugly women are considered Gag women. It is kind of funny because I heard a rumor that Gag women make their face uglier by plastice surgeries to be funnier. So it is simply proven that every thing on TV is about plastic.

Here is an example of the most popular group in Korea who is the SNSD. Because they are sponsored by a company that only gives chances for pretty girls, they had no chance but totally became somebody else. They might like it because in one of the documentaries about SNSD, one of the member Sunny, said, my pretty face~ which seemed to be joyful. I think doing plastic surgery for self respect is okay but changing is not really you are suppose to do while living a life.
